BELGRADE The First Municipal Prosecution has filed a request for an investigation against Sasa Pejovic who cut into President Tomislav Nikolic’s motorcade on November 3. Pejovic is a police officer and a driver of Traffic Police Chief Dragisa Simic. Prosecution wants motorcade incident probed The prosecution suspects that Pejovic was behind the wheel of a police Mitsubishi Pajero that approached the presidential motorcade on the Belgrade-Nis highway and ran into it around 1:00 CET on November 3. The investigative judge will schedule a hearing of the suspect and decide whether there is enough evidence to launch the investigation. Pejovic has been released pending trial. A driver who was involved in another presidential motorcade incident turned himself in on Thursday. According to the media, the driver’s name is Aleksandar Stojanovic. It was reported on Thursday that a Skoda Fabia without a rear license plate had tried to cut in Nikolic’s motorcade on Wednesday afternoon in New Belgrade. However, Stojanovic claims that he did not mean to threaten the president and that he only tried to take over the motorcade because he was in a hurry. The prosecution suspects that Pejović was behind the wheel of a police Mitsubishi Pajero that approached the presidential motorcade on the Belgrade-Niš highway and ran into it around 1:00 CET on November 3.
