In Belgrade, several thousand citizens braved the frosty weather to attend an open-doors concert given by a number of veteran local pop and rock stars. Serbians welcome in New Year The revelers seemed to be optimistic about 2011 despite the country's politicians warning that this year will be even more difficult than the one behind us. This year Belgrade hosted some 15,000 foreigners for the New Year celebrations, most of them arriving from Slovenia. But reports said that there were also those who traveled thousands of kilometers to ring in 2011 in Europe's unofficial "party capital". No major incidents were reported, while city services completed the cleaning up by 04:30 CET, when traffic was also back to normal. (Beta)
