Elections will be held in March of 2012, said Boris Tadic at a Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) convention on Saturday. He also said that Serbia could join the EU within the next ten years. Tadic: Elections in 2012 “This can, however, happen only if Serbia secures a complete infrastructure in education, science, traffic and energy sectors,” the president pointed out. “The purpose of EU integration is Serbia's fundamental modernization and change,” he added. The Democratic Party (DS) leader has announced that the elections will probably be held in March of 2012. “I'm convinced that the elections will be in March of 2012, when they are due, and I believe that there are no better political powers than those that see Serbia in the EU,“ he said and added that the DS and SPO would continue their partnership. Tadic stressed that there were some differences between political parties but that their common goal was crucial. He said he was honored to attend the SPO convention and that this party had played a key role in the democratization processs of Serbia, that it had suffered blows and losses, but managed to survive.
