Newly appointed Dutch FM Uri Rosenthal has stated that Serbia's further steps toward the EU will depend on the country's full cooperation with the Hague. He also said that the recent conclusions of the European Council that allowed for the Serbian application for accession in the EU to be forwarded to the European Commission underline the cooperation with the Hague as a key condition. "We wanted to underline the importance of the cooperation with the Hague tribunal at each level of the process of Serbia's accession in the EU," said Rosenthal, adding that the conclusions of the European Council, which reflect the efforts of 27 EU member states, secured a balance of views. Although we now have a new cabinet, the Dutch government's stand remains unchanged, said Rosenthal, adding that the cooperation with Hague plays the key role in Serbia's EU aspirations. Rosenthal also said that the Western Balkan countries will be able to become members of the EU only after all conditions are met, and that the results of the reform process will set the pace of the accession in the Union.
