Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic has dismissed claims heard in Pristina that the Albanian authorities there "prohibited" him from entering the territory. The interior minister in the Kosovo Albanian government, Zenun Pajaziti, made the claim on Friday, but Bogdanovic reacted by saying that the Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija has no contacts with the government in Pristina, "and even less so any need to ask them for permission" to go to Kosovo. Minister denies he was "barred from Kosovo" "For all visits and stay in Kosovo and Metohija the Serbian government representatives speak to UNMIK or EULEX, as the only legitimate international missions in the province, which is currently a UN protectorate, according to UN Security Council Resolution 1244," the minister said. But Pajaziti told a local television outlet in Pristina that a request allegedly "came indirectly" for Bogdanovic to enter Kosovo, and that the Kosovo Albanian authorities "rejected this request". The reason, according to this official, is because Bogdanovic "on numerous occasions so far called on the Kosovo Serbs not to respect the Kosovo institutions". Bogdanovic, who is a resident of Kosovo and lives with his family in the northern town of Lesak, is not required to have any permits to enter the province. But he described Pajaziti's statement as an example of how the temporary institutions in Pristina "intend to prevent Kosovo Serbs even from staying in their own homes."
