United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan Markovic says that there will be more information on the possible formation of a government on Thursday. However, he did not say with which option he would rather enter government. JS leader downplays role of kingmaker Markovic told daily Vecernje Novosti that the media had mistakenly presented him as the key figure on whose shoulders the fate of Serbia and the formation of a new government practically rested. He said that nothing depended on him, and that he was “just a peasant from the small village of Koncarevo.” Daily Blic stated unofficially that formal discussions over the formation of a government would begin between the Democratic Party and the coalition grouped around the Socialists—the JS included— in the next two weeks. Marković told daily Večernje Novosti that the media had mistakenly presented him as the key figure on whose shoulders the fate of Serbia and the formation of a new government practically rested.

He said that nothing depended on him, and that he was “just a peasant from the small village of Končarevo.”

Daily Blic stated unofficially that formal discussions over the formation of a government would begin between the Democratic Party and the coalition grouped around the Socialists—the JS included— in the next two weeks.
