Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica says Serbia has taken the initiative in the Kosovo talks. To illustrate his point, Kostunica pointed to the proposed model of essential autonomy offered to Kosovo, giving the province status similar to that of Hong Kong. In its further activities, Serbia will strongly insist on such a solution, because it guarantees Serbia’s own national interests and, at the same time, meets the essential interests of the Albanian ethnic minority in the province, said the prime minister. Ahern stressed that it was important to find a compromise solution for Kosovo through dialogue between the two sides.
