Asked whether the G17 Plus party ministers have resigned officially or not, Koštunica said: “Only one thing is important now, and that it a successful completion of the referendum. Everything else will be taken care of after the referendum.”The Prime Minister said that he is not afraid of a boycott of the referendum, and is expecting “widespread and undivided support” from the citizens.
“The sovereign public will is expected to give its decision in the end, and it is good to hear all opinions. I am not afraid of a boycott.” Koštunica said.
Regarding the dissidence over the fact that there was no public discussion of the constitutional proposal, Koštunica said that there were three public discussions.
“I would like to remind you of another side of public discussions. In our history, public discussions were a characteristic of the worst period in the development of Yugoslavia, when they served as an initiative for imposing legal and constitutional solutions.” Koštunica said.
He also said that he will propose the adoption of a constitutional law which will determine the time of the elections, after the constitution is passed, adding that elections should take place as soon as possible.
Koštunica also said that his Democratic Party of Serbia is cooperating well with a number of other parties currently.
“We have great cooperation with New Serbia and this shows the direction in which things will be heading.” Koštunica said.
