BELGRADE The Organized Crime Prosecution has expanded an investigation against suspects in the Agrobanka case, B92 has learnt. “The Prosecution ordered that the investigation against suspects Dusan Antonic, Slavoljub Koricanac, Bojan Zaric, Bojan Labovic, Vahbo Papic, all employed by Agrobanka, member of the Agrobanka executive board Bojan Simonovic, Asprom owner Stevan Alavanja and Agrartrade Director Predrag Vuckovic be expanded,” Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic told B92. Prosecution expands investigation in Agrobanka case Antonic, Koricanac, Zaric, Labovic and Papic are suspected of unlawfully approving a large number of loans to Asprom, Agrartrade and Porecje-Vucje companies. The loans worth RSD 2.3bn and EUR 2.3mn were approved between June 24, 2008 and December 29, 2011 and they have never been repaid, reads the Prosecution’s release. Alavanja and Vuckovic are suspected of taking the loans even though they had been aware that their companies were over-indebted and without providing the necessary guarantees. Simonovic, Alavanja and Vuckovic were arrested on Wednesday for abuses in the Agrobanka case. They were questioned and remanded in custody for 30 days. 19 suspects are being investigated in the case. Former Agrobanka Board of Directors President Dusan Antonic and another nine suspects were arrested in early August. The police and the Prosecution are investigating all suspicious loans that were approved from 2006 until 2011 and banking guarantees given to other legal entities. According to Slovenian media, Slovenia is considering launching a proceeding against Serbia before the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington. Antonić, Korićanac, Zarić, Labović and Papić are suspected of unlawfully approving a large number of loans to Asprom, Agrartrade and Porečje-Vučje companies. Alavanja and Vučković are suspected of taking the loans even though they had been aware that their companies were over-indebted and without providing the necessary guarantees.

Simonović, Alavanja and Vučković were arrested on Wednesday for abuses in the Agrobanka case. They were questioned and remanded in custody for 30 days.

19 suspects are being investigated in the case. Former Agrobanka Board of Directors President Dušan Antonić and another nine suspects were arrested in early August.

The police and the Prosecution are investigating all suspicious loans that were approved from 2006 until 2011 and banking guarantees given to other legal entities.

Slovenia considers launching procedure against Serbia

The Agrobanka case will be discussed by Slovenian and Serbian Foreign Ministers Karl Erjavec and Ivan Mrkić during their meeting on Friday.

Among other foreign shareholders, certain Slovenian companies also had their shares in Agrobanka.

According to Slovenian media, Slovenia is considering launching a proceeding against Serbia before the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington.
