Spanish police have cooperated with their Serbian counterparts (MUP) to arrest members of a criminal group, it has been announced.

Spanish police have cooperated with their Serbian counterparts (MUP) to arrest members of a criminal group, it has been announced. The group committed a number of burglaries and robberies on the territory of Spain, and included Bosnian citizen Mirko Mijatovic, who was the gang's leader, MUP said in Belgrade today. MUP helps with gang bust in Spain The statement reads that an arrest warrant was filed against Mijatovic, in order to serve the sentence of imprisonment for attempted murder and concealing evidence, and adds that this criminal group committed crimes mostly on the territory of Alicante, Madrid and Valencia, where Mijatovic was arrested. Spanish authorities traced and arrested Mihajlovic thanks to the information obtained from Serbian police, the statement said. Spanish police and MUP successfully cooperated previously at the beginning of March, when Montenegrin Veselin Vlahovic, against whom a war crimes warrant was issued and who committed the most serious crimes on the territory of Serbia, was arrested. MUP continued its cooperation with the National Police Corps of Spain in order to bring to justice other members of this criminal group, the statement concludes.
