BELGRADE This year's inflation in Serbia will be withing the projected framework of up to 5.5 percent, experts of the Institute for Market Research (IZIT) have said. They noted that this was "to a small degree a result of the economic policy that the government is pursuing and greatly a consequence of favorable climate and movement of the oil price in the world market." Inflation expected to reach 5.5 percent Since the beginning of the year until September, the inflation reached 2.5 percent, the latest IZIT bulletin reads. On year-to-year level, inflation stood at 4.9 percent in September which indicates the tendency towards decreasing of inflation pressures as it amounted to 9.8 percent in the first half of the year. This is greatly the result of better agricultural crop yields this year compared to the previous year as the consumer prices of food in September 2013 compared to September 2012 went down by 0.3 percent. This fact shows that the inflation trends in Serbia are much dependable on the movement of agricultural production and monopolistic structures which are present in the area of food industry, IZIT said. Moreover, the dinar exchange rate in 2013 was much more stable than in 2012, which had a calming effect on the inflationary trends in the country. Tanjug
