Šešelj sentenced to two years for contempt of court

The Hague Tribunal sentenced Serb Radical Party (SRS) leader Vojislav Šešelj to two years in prison in his third contempt of court case on Thursday.

The Hague Tribunal sentenced Serb Radical Party (SRS) leader Vojislav Seselj to two years in prison in his third contempt of court case on Thursday. Seselj was accused of failing to remove from his personal website four books he wrote and six confidential files that revealed confidential information about a number of protected witnesses who testified in his main trial before the Tribunal for alleged war crimes. Seselj sentenced to two years for contempt of court In the first contempt of court trial, the SRS leader was sentenced to 15 months in prison, while in the second he was sentenced to another 18 months. Seselj filed an appeal to the second verdict. Seselj’s trial for alleged war crimes committed in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Vojvodina, Serbia between 1991 and 1994 ended in March this year and the court is expected to deliver its verdict in March 2013. In the first contempt of court trial, the SRS leader was sentenced to 15 months in prison, while in the second he was sentenced to another 18 months.

Šešelj filed an appeal to the second verdict.

Šešelj’s trial for alleged war crimes committed in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Vojvodina, Serbia between 1991 and 1994 ended in March this year and the court is expected to deliver its verdict in March 2013.
