Police union announces strike for Monday
The Police Union of Serbia (PSS) and the Interior Ministry have agreed on ways to improve police officers’ financial situation.

The Police Union of Serbia (PSS) and the Interior Ministry have agreed on ways to improve police officers’ financial situation. The union has, however, announced that police will still go on strike on Monday. Police union announces strike for Monday After several-hour-long meeting with Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, PSS President Veljko Mijailovic said that the strike would end as soon as the authorities paid overdue wages. He said that the strike would begin at 06:00 CET on June 13. “This practically means that the strike can be finished at 06:05,” Mijailovic pointed out and added that Police Director Milorad Veljovic had also attended the meeting. The police representatives and the Interior Ministry have agreed that Dacic will form a commission that will determine how much the ministry owes the police officers for unpaid compensation for night work. The PSS president explained that other things that had been agreed, such as changes to the Law on Police, could not be implemented right away.

After several-hour-long meeting with Interior Minister Ivica Dačić, PSS President Veljko Mijailović said that the strike would end as soon as the authorities paid overdue wages.He said that the strike would begin at 06:00 CET on June 13.
“This practically means that the strike can be finished at 06:05,” Mijailović pointed out and added that Police Director Milorad Veljović had also attended the meeting.
