Government’s European Integration Office Director Milica Delevic says she expects a positive opinion from the European Commission (EC) on Serbia's progress. "This is possible, but not certain. Right now, my attention is focused on what needs to happen to ensure a positive opinion from the EC on October 12," she told Tanjug. Serbia expects positive opinion from EC, say official “When and if the opinion is positive, and I believe it will be, we will see what recommendation Serbia will get for further progress in European integration,” Delevic added. “The EC will primarily assess the realization of the reform process in Serbia, and it is important to pass the reform laws we have committed to,” she stressed. According to her, it is equally important to implement these laws, specifically everything defined by the Copenhagen criteria. "Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal is a formal requirement and it will be important for the EC opinion. It will also be important to the member countries. We are talking about creating a climate in which every foreign minister of an EU member country will find it natural and indisputable that he should vote in favor of Serbia getting EU candidacy status, because we need all countries to support this," Delevic concluded.
