Govt. shouldn’t “hide behind European idea”

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic stated Saturday that the elections should be called after Serbia got the EU candidate status. He explained that this was the only way for Serbia to get an efficient government which would be able to modernize the entire state. Govt. shouldn’t “hide behind European idea” The LDP leader said in a press statement that today everybody was in favor of the years-long stand of the LDP that elections should be held after winning the EU candidate status. Jovanovic said that the LDP would like the elections to be held in the shortest possible term after winning the EU candidate status, and added that the government was expected not to hide behind the European idea "which has become an excuse for any type of ineffectuality."
