The Council of Europe investigator's report on the Kosovo organ trafficking case used data provided by the Serbian BIA, says a newspaper. Albanian language daily Koha Ditore writes today that it had access to a report from 2003 where the Serbian intelligence agency describes a terrorist Albanian network. Marty report cites BIA, says daily Swiss senator Dick Marty presented his report earlier this month, naming the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and one of its leaders, now Kosovo's prime minister, Hashim Thaci, as being responsible for the kidnapping of Serb and other civilians in the province in 1999 and 2000. According to the report, the prisoners were taken to northern Albania where their organs were removed to be sold in the black market. Now Koha Ditore writes that the BIA report it claims to have seen does not mention illegal trade in human body parts, but does talk about different Albanian groups engaged in arms, drugs and people trafficking. The Pristina-based newspaper says that the alleged BIA report, "as expected", describes the KLA, its offshoot in the Presevo valley region, and the Albanian National Army (ANA) as terrorist groups that also engaged in organized crime. The newspaper sees similarities between "the BIA and Marty reports" in the language used to describe "actions of the Albanian society, in references to the (Thaci-led KLA) Drenica Group", but also in the spelling of Thaci's name.
