Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac on Sunday in Belgrade addressed reporters to present the results of his ministry in 2009. The greatest success, according to him, was the opening of a large military base in the south, whereas the 2010 goal will be the completion of professionalization of the Serbian Army (VS). "New military base – greatest success" Sutanovac, speaking at the VS HQ said that Base Jug, also known as Cepotina, situated near Bujanovac, is already in function but that "some details are still to be fixed", and that as of 2010, it is to be completely equipped "in order to become a center for the training of peace-keeping missions in the region". “The next year will be marked by the promotion of professionalization of the army and the military profession and when it comes to export agreements, 2009 set a record and consequently all military industry plants will have a lot of work and will have to enlarge its capacities in the following year,” the minister was quoted as saying.
