NATO member-state Foreign Ministers are expected to make a decision on Friday to approve the action plan for Montenegro becoming a member of the Alliance. However, it is unlikely that the same will be done for Bosnia-Herzegovina, according to an unnamed source close to NATO. Montenegro waits on NATO decision The sources say that NATO officials also talked about Serbia, a country they believe should be “sent a strong signal.” Sources stated that Montenegro is ready to send about 40 military police officers to Afghanistan in a NATO-led operation, as well. NATO sources said that Bosnia-Herzegovina has a united structure of armed forces, which is good, adding that the reforms in the defense sector are also developing well. The problem is that there is a stoppage in efforts for finding a political-institutional solution for the internal conflicts in Bosnia, the source said, adding that the prerequisite for successful negotiations with NATO is that Bosnia must take care of its internal conflicts first.
