Đelić: 155 European laws in 2009

Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic stated on Wednesday that in 2009 parliament is to adopt "at least 155 laws". This will be part of the push to adjust Serbia's legislation with that of the European Union, he explained. Djelic: 155 European laws in 2009 At a session of the parliamentary European Integration Committee, Djelic said that from July until December 2008 Serbia adopted 29 percent of the envisaged regulations, harmonized with the European legislation. According to him, "this is a big progress, because from 2003 to 2008 the harmonization of regulations reached only 24 percent". The deputy PM pointed out that the plan had been to adopt 64 laws from the European agenda during the second half of 2008, but that the government sent 49 to parliament while MPs passed only 17 of them. Presenting a review on the implementation of the National EU Integration Program, Djelic pointed out that its aim is for Serbia to "technically coordinate to the full its legal frame with EU legislation".
