Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac will sign a security agreement on exchange of information with NATO in Brussels tomorrow, daily Danas understands. The signing of the document is one of the conditions for fully-fledged membership of the Partnership for Peace program. MoD, NATO to sign cooperation agreement The agreement will put at Serbia’s full disposal all the potentials and capacities that the program has to offer, Danas adds. The document chiefly governs the methods of safeguarding and distribution of confidential information in cases of exchanges, although agreement signatories are not obliged to exchange information. The agreement will also enhance specific cooperation in the fields of defense and security between Serbia and partner states, while a representative office will be opened in Brussels. Enhanced cooperation in the fields of military, police and general security training is envisaged, as is military-technical and military-economic cooperation, which will lead to joint military and police exercises. The agreement has thus far been signed by over 90 countries and international organizations, including the UN, the EU, the OSCE and Russia. The Serbian government decided to sign the agreement in July.
