The Socialists are ready to reach an agreement with the Democrats for a local government in Belgrade "if the DSS is included", daily Blic says. According to this report, the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) is ready to negotiate a local government in Belgrade with the Democratic Party-led “For a European Serbia” ticket, if the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) is part of this deal, because the SPS has deemed any cooperation with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) unacceptable. "SPS wants Belgrade deal with DS, DSS" Over the weekend, the Socialists broke off talks with the DSS, NS, and the Radicals (SRS) on the state level, and started negotiating with the DS and their coalition of five parties. But in May, they signed an agreement with the DSS-NS-SRS to form the local authorities in Belgrade, which is still valid. Today, the newspaper writes that notwithstanding an acrimonious split, "there is a foundation for reaching an agreement between the DS and DSS, not just because they have cooperated well on the city-level up until now, but also because the city board of the DSS would agree to a coalition between DS and SPS". SPS believes that if Belgrade is one of the conditions for forming a government on the state level, none of the remaining options are good – a forced administration or new elections. Blic writes that as far as talks regarding ministerial positions on the state level are concerned, the Kosovo Ministry will probably cease to exist on the initiative of the SPS, who were expected to receive that portfolio. The Socialists, according to this newspaper's sources, are interested in bringing the Coordination Center for the province back to the center stage.
