EULEX Chief and French General Yves de Kermabon is not accepting orders from UN headquarters in New York, writes Pristina daily Koha Ditore. That could cost him his job, the daily states, adding that de Kermabon’s attitudes is the reason why there has been no progress over the EULEX chain of command in Kosovo. "EULEX chief ignoring UN orders" “It’s all down to de Kermabon, whose attitude is even jeopardizing his job in Kosovo, since there is no unanimity in Brussels. There are those who, because of something they call success, could question de Kermabon’s future in the province, just so as to gain Russia’s acquiescence (to establish the EU mission in Kosovo)” writes the daily, quoting sources in Brussels. The same source states that because of disagreements over command, the French general is not coming to Pristina, and is rather waiting to launch the establishment of the EULEX mission unhindered after June 15, when the Kosovo constitution comes into force. As a concession, De Kermabon has offered to regularly update the UN Office in Pristina on the mission’s progress, so that the office can report to UN headquarters and, indirectly, to the UN Security Council.
