Today's editions of the Belgrade dailies focus on the expansion of the Schengen Zone. Also featuring highly are the Russian threat of a veto, and the start of the presidential election campaign. Press: Schengen expansion; Russian veto BLIC – The daily leads with “Hitler’s picture in Belgrade hotel” with a photo of the room and the picture of the former German leader above the bed. “I’ll lead Serbia, but not as selector” says Dusan Ivkovic on his new appointment at the head of all Serbian male basketball teams. “Lenny Kravitz coming to Belgrade,” it is reported. BORBA – “Russia threatens veto” is on the Kosovo crisis. “There was no investigation” concerns the Hague fugitives. VECERNJE NOVOSTI – Referring to diplomatic sources in Belgrade and Paris, the daily predicts, “Kosovo independence: February 6”. Outgoing Hague Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte says “I’m leaving Tribunal disappointed”. The trial of the Zemun Clan criminal group is covered in “Krsmanovic is shamed slave”. GLAS JAVNOSTI – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says, “Veto for Kosovo state”. Kosta Cavoski talks about Srebrenica in an article entitled “Conflicting scale of crime”. The entry of nine more European countries into the Schengen Zone is analyzed in “Schengen encircles Serbia”. “I’d make the second round” says exiled businessman-turned-politician Bogoljub Karic in an interview.
