MPs have rejected the LDP proposal for a parliamentary hearing to be held on Delta Holding activities. This sparked indignation among the party’s officials and verbal exchanges with Serb Radical Party (SRS) MPs, that led to Miloljub Albijanic adjourning the day’s session. MPs reject LDP call for Delta parliamentary hearing 24 deputies supported the Liberal Democratic Party’s proposal, 117 were against, while 71 of the 212 MPs present chose to abstain. In a series of claims of breaches of rulebook procedure, LDP members repeated their accusations at Delta’s expense and the company’s president, Miroslav Miskovic. “Refusal to discuss the reasons for setting up a parliamentary hearing is very damaging, and has sent a message that there is not enough determination to deal with the serious issues that affect our citizens,“ said LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic. “Parliament has forced us to seek support for this initiative from the outside,“ said Jovanovic, stating that the party would launch a petition that would forcibly open a debate on the matter. The LDP leader said that, “Society has received a clear message that monopolies and bribery are a consequence of political impotence, privatization of institutions and a shirking of commitments that we mustn’t back away from.“ Parliament today adopted the Laws on the President and on the Election of the President of the Republic, which brought the session to a close.
