Serbian currency in four-day slide against euro

The Serbian dinar (RSD) is continuing to lose value against the euro (EUR) for a fourth day in a row, the central bank (NBS) has announced.

BELGRADE The Serbian dinar (RSD) is continuing to lose value against the euro (EUR) for a fourth day in a row, the central bank (NBS) has announced. On Tuesday it lost 0.8 percent in value, thus setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 116.2668. Serbian currency in four-day slide against euro Over the last month, the dinar dropped by 0.7 percent and since the beginning of the year the drop totalled ten percent, relative to the same month last year. The dinar dropped by 11.4 percent. The dinar was at its highest on January 11 when the official middle exchange rate totaled RSD 103.6922, while the record low added up to June 4, with the official middle exchange rate at RSD 117.6943. Since the beginning of the year, the central bank sold EUR 1.288 billion on the inter-bank foreign exchange market so as to maintain the stability of the exchange rate. The indicative exchange rate of the dinar against the U.S. dollar totaled RSD 95.1058 on Monday, which is 0.9 percent less than on the previous day, while the dollar was weaker by 2.6 percent relative to the previous month, which is by 23.6 percent lower than on the same day the previous year. Over the last month, the dinar dropped by 0.7 percent and since the beginning of the year the drop totalled ten percent, relative to the same month last year. The dinar dropped by 11.4 percent.

The dinar was at its highest on January 11 when the official middle exchange rate totaled RSD 103.6922, while the record low added up to June 4, with the official middle exchange rate at RSD 117.6943.
