Jamal al-Jamal died "in a mysterious explosion" while opening a safe in his residence, Reuters reported, and quoted his daughter Rana as saying that the family believes he was "killed, and that his death was something arranged and not an accident." Czech police said the blast that killed al-Jamal might have been caused by mishandling an explosive securing the safe, and that they were not treating it as an attack or a terrorist incident. Previously, the Czech police said they found unlicensed weapons at the Palestinian diplomatic mission, but gave no details about the type or quantity.
