According to the Serbian MoD, Djordjevic and Khatchaturov "exchanged opinions and stances on current events in crisis hotspots" as well as on the political and security situation in the Balkans, and realization of activities so far, along with "modalities to improve cooperation."

Djordjevic said that Serbia, as a military neutral country, would continue to develop cooperation with all relevant international organizations and regional initiatives, in line with its interests and the need to ensure peace and stability of the region, as a precondition for its development.

Also on Friday, Djordjevic welcomed Rose Gottemoeller at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla airport, when they spoke about Serbia's cooperation with NATO within Partnership for Peace, and "stressed especially the importance of participation of Serbian soldiers in exercises held under the program."

In addition, Djordjevic and Gottemoeller "exchanged opinions on the current security situation in the region."

Gottemoeller was also received by Vucic, who said Serbia was very appreciative of the military alliance's high level of representation at his inaugural reception, the Presidency of Serbia said in a statement quoted by Tanjug.

"It is another indication of the mutual respect and good cooperation that is developing despite Serbia's military neutrality", Vucic noted.
