He stated that the number of infected people is decreasing, as well as the number of patients in intensive care, but that the situation is still not completely favorable, because, as he says, we still have a high number of deaths.

Kon says that it is not clear at the moment what would disrupt the decline in numbers in the next two weeks, adding that we are sure to continue to decline in the number of patients, which is optimistic compared to some countries around the world.

"The question is only about omicron, because it takes time for it to be discovered. It is registered in 60 countries around the world, which shows an enviable potential, which means that in time it will rule the whole world," says Kon.

He added that some countries are introducing new preventive measures in order to prevent a sudden increase in the disease.

"We have a good situation, we did not have a leap in the number of infected in schools," says Kon.

Kon explained that when Omicron arrives in Serbia, it will probably be at the end of December. Speaking about the fourth dose, Kon states that the question is whether the vaccine is for the elderly, and those at risk, or for all citizens, but, as he pointed out, studies will show that.

"The third dose is important, especially when it comes to the omicron strain. It enhances the growth of antibodies, protects cellular immunity...", explained Kon.

Speaking about the effectiveness of vaccines, Kon adds that with the Chinese vaccine, the third dose leads to a sudden jump in antibodies, but that each vaccine is equally important. "I expect that, if the fourth dose of vaccination occurs, we will certainly have enough vaccines for the citizens," said Kon.

Kon added that the main way out of this situation is vaccination. "It's something to remember. Because we're about to do everything, except get vaccinated, which is terrible," says Kon.

Kon stated that the statement of Bill Gates, who announced the end of the pandemic for next year, is quite optimistic, adding that he agrees with him, but that he cannot say with certainty that the pandemic will end then.

Kon also commented on the problem of non-vaccination, for which he stated the citizens' fear of the needle, adding that patients are ready to take several medications, in order to avoid receiving the vaccine.
