The posthumous remains of four Serbs, who were kidnapped and killed in 1999 in Kosovo, were handed over to their families.

The posthumous remains of four Serbs, who were kidnapped and killed in 1999 in Kosovo, were handed over to their families. Officials of the EULEX forensics team handed over the posthumous remains at the Merdare administrative crossing of three soldiers from Serbia, Smiljko Milovanovic (32) from Blace, Dragan Vucetic (32) from Ljubovija and Bojan Cvetkovic (27) from Nis. Posthumous remains given to families The remains of one civilian, Radosav Dasic (50) from the village of Rudica near Klina, were also given to his family. The killed soldiers were found in Plecka, while Dasic’s remains were found this year in a shallow grave in his family home’s backyard. The identities of the four persons were confirmed after DNA analysis. The handing over the remains to the families was attended by the President of Missing Persons Commission Veljko Odalovic and member of the expert group Vujadin Otasevic. EULEX officials handed over on Friday the remains of Radomir Milovanovic (80) from the village of Opraske, in the Istok municipality, where he was buried on Friday, and Magdalena Lazarevic (61), who was buried in Pec. Both were killed in 1999 as well.

Posthumous remains given to families

The remains of one civilian, Radosav Dašić (50) from the village of Rudica near Klina, were also given to his family.

The killed soldiers were found in Plećka, while Dašić’s remains were found this year in a shallow grave in his family home’s backyard.

The identities of the four persons were confirmed after DNA analysis.

The handing over the remains to the families was attended by the President of Missing Persons Commission Veljko Odalović and member of the expert group Vujadin Otašević.

EULEX officials handed over on Friday the remains of Radomir Milovanović (80) from the village of Opraške, in the Istok municipality, where he was buried on Friday, and Magdalena Lazarević (61), who was buried in Peć.

Both were killed in 1999 as well.
