The swine flu vaccine could be distributed to hospitals and health centers before the Medicines Agency finishes its analysis of the vaccine, daily Blic writes. Initially, it was planned for the vaccine to remain locked in refrigerators in quarantine conditions until a certificate is given by the Agency, which would occur some time around December 17. Vaccine to arrive in hospitals soon There is a possibility, however, that a call could be made to have the vaccine delivered after the last doctor’s appointment, said Vladimir Petrovic, coordinator of the vaccination campaign. Petrovic said that the working group has finished its vaccination plan. According to the plan, 80 percent of the dosages are meant to be given to people with chronic illnesses, children, and pregnant women, after which all other people will be able to receive the vaccination. “Every health center and hospital is obligated to call patients to come get vaccinated. There is a possibility for this to be done via telephone or verbally after the last doctor’s appointment. As far as children are concerned, parents must give the go-ahead for vaccination. After this, the school dispatcher will organize the vaccination,” he explained. Since the vaccine comes in packages of ten dosages, Petrovic said that several people at a time will be called in to receive the vaccination. (Beta archive)
