The Gay-Straight Alliance NGO has filed a complaint against the Sava Centar public company. The charges against the congress hall are related to alleged acts of discrimination, FoNet news agency reports. Gay-Straight Alliance presses charges The organization says that the complaint also cites violation of human dignity, honor and reputation, and breaches of right to equal access to places designated for public use. The Gay-Straight Alliance is asking the court to order Sava Centar to pay a total of RSD 10,800,000 (some EUR 110,000) in damages for the non-material damage and spiritual pain suffered as their members' honor, reputation and personal rights and equality were violated. The case pertains to the NGO's plans to on Feb. 26 hold a news conference at the Sava Centar premises, in order to present its annual human rights report related to the LGBT population. The press release from the organization today says that despite a timely request sent to rent the room for the press conference, they were notified two days ahead of the event that the arrangement had been canceled. Sava Centar Director Dragan Vucicevic, according to this statement, was heard saying that "everyone knows where faggots gather in the city, so they should go and have their conference there".
