Justice workers continue protest

Serb justice workers are continuing their protest in front of the District and Municipal courts in Kosovska Mitrovica today. They are demanding to be allowed to return to their jobs, from which they were dismissed with UNMIK and KFOR’s arrival in Kosovo in 1999. Justice workers continue protest District Public Prosecutor Milan Bigovic said that the workers would remain steadfast in their demands to return to the Kosovska Mitrovica courts. He said that the workers had met with OSCE officials yesterday to discuss their problems and the events of March 17, when some of the protesters had been arrested and interrogated. Today’s protest ended without incident. Barbed wire has been mounted all round the court which is being guarded by KFOR soldiers. Some 200 Serbs worked in the Kosovska Mitrovica court system before 1999.
