The Guardian: EU officials "correct" Inzko's law because there is a threat of war?

According to the Guardian newspaper, at the recent meeting of the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, it was concluded that the "Inzko Law", i.e. the imposed regulation of the former High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina, is responsible for the current crisis in that country. According to the newspaper, during a meeting with the EU delegation in BiH, Várhelyi gave his "sincere assessment" that Inzko was "responsible for the current political crisis and the delegitimization of the OHR".

"Inzko's changes cannot be challenged from the point of view of the essence of the law, but the fact that the 'law' was imposed on the last day of his term is a problem. Especially since such an important decision should be made through discussion, Várhelyi said during a meeting on November 25th.

The paper writes that Várhelyi told his colleagues in the EU that the Bosnian Muslim leadership has expressed a desire to resolve this issue by adopting a new law that could encourage Republika Srpska representatives to participate in full capacity in the work of joint institutions.

The "Guardian" reminds that the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, has been the target of accusations for the past few months that he is trying to secede from the BiH Federation.

The paper notes that Dodik points out that power is not evenly distributed, and that Inzko's imposition of the law banning genocide denial was an undemocratic move and the main cause of problems in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
