Croatian ex-president still thinks Dodik is "new Milosevic"
As for Dodik, the leader of the Serb Republic (RS) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mesic said he "said all he had to say about Dodik a long time ago, and it's the same today."The newspaper then noted that Mesic earlier described Dodik as "the new Slobodan Milosevic in the Balkans," and advised the international community against "any longer accepting Dodik continuously putting the existence of Bosnia-Herzegovina under a question mark by threatening with a secession referendum."
The tense relations between Croatia and Serbia, Mesic told the daily, "primarily" came as a result of the election campaign, and also "in part due to the leading politicians being unprepared to realize the danger of a permanent deterioration in mutual relations."
Mesic added that he "does not believe Croatia will block Serbia on the road of EU membership, because that would not in on Croatia's interest, either."
