BUDAPEST More than 700 mostly foreign trucks have been stopped in southwestern Hungary with traffic restrictions introduced due to the weather. Trucks over 7.5 tons are currently banned from highways M6 and M7. Hundreds of trucks stranded in southwestern Hungary Hungary's Agency for Management of Emergency Situations and humanitarian organizations have been sending food and warm beverages to the hundreds of drivers stranded by the blizzard since yesterday. The trucks came from Slovakia, Poland. Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Romania. The police overnight intervened to rescue 52 people from snowbound vehicles on the roads in the same part of the country, the MTI news agency is reporting.
