|Reports say that Sulejman Tihic blames Republic of Srpska officials for the failure of police reform in Bosnia. The President of the Democratic Action Party said that he expected international officials to tell Bosnia-Herzegovina that all deadlines for initialing the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) had expired because of political leaders’ failure to reach an agreement on reform. Tihic blames RS for failed police reform Tihic added that the European Union also needed to clearly identify who was responsible for this failure. He said that at the last meeting on the subject, Republic of Srpska officials had been even more uncooperative and had added two more conditions which were not in accordance with EU principles. “These conditions do not allow any continuation of negotiations regarding police reform,” Tihic told Sarajevo daily Dnevni Avaz today. He said that RS politicians did not want regional police to cross entity lines, to be financed at national level, or to have any structures administered by the Bosnia-Herzegovina Security Ministry. The International Community's High Representative in Bosnia, Miroslav Lajcak, will meet in Brussels today with international officials to discuss the country’s progress towards European integration. Lajcak will inform EU officials that political parties have failed to reach an agreement on police reform, which is the main condition for Bosnian ratification of the SAA.
