EU and Serbia sign EUR 97 million IPA 2017 package

A part of the IPA (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance) for 2017 amounting to over EUR 97 million was signed on Monday in Brussels, Tanjug is reporting.

EU and Serbia sign EUR 97 million IPA 2017 package

The funds will go to energy and environmental protection projects, as well as to participation in EU programs such as Cosme, Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+, Joksimovic and Hahn said, the agency reported.

The Serbian government announce the signing earlier, saying that these agreements "provide significant funds from the EU funds for the implementation of reform activities in key areas of importance for the sustainable development of Serbia."

This is a grant of over EUR 97 million for the implementation of priority activities in three sectors: environmental protection, energy and internal affairs, the government said, adding that Joksimovic will on Tuesday participate in the work of the Stabilization and Association Council.
