Serbian officials offer condolences after Manchester attack

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic has sent a telegram of condolences to his British counterpart Theresa May, on the occasion of a terrorist attack in Manchester.

" Therefore, we must be united in defending civilized values ​​against the forces of darkness, for the sake of a just goals - a future free from the fear of terrorism."

"On behalf of the government of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest sympathies to you, your government and all those who have lost loved ones, and wish those injured a speedy recovery," Vucic's message said.

Also on Tuesday, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic sent a message of condolences to British Queen Elizabeth II, noting that Serbia condemns in the strongest terms the heinous attack against civilians.

"Allow me to extend to you my sincerest condolences on behalf of the Serbian citizens and on my own behalf over the tragic loss of life in Manchester. At this time, our thoughts are with the families of those killed. We wish those injured a speedy recovery," the message read.

According to reports on Tuesday morning, 22 people died when a suicide bomber activated an explosive device outside Manchester Arena.
