DS "has no intention of merging with LDP"

The opposition Democratic party (DS) has no intention of merging with any party, including the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

BELGRADE The opposition Democratic party (DS) has no intention of merging with any party, including the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). There is no support within the DS for something like that, head of the DS group in the Serbian parliament Borislav Stefanovic said on Tuesday. DS "has no intention of merging with LDP" The DS is a party with a name "100 years old" and there should be no speculations about a merger, but it is open to cooperation with all the democratic and pro-European parties, including the LDP, in order to solve problems, he told reporters. "We respect the LDP's legitimate wish, but that is the desire and goal of that party, and the DS speaks for itself and there is no room for such speculations," he stressed, adding that the DS and LDP would "definitely work together in parliament and outside of it."
