Opposition DSS calls for peaceful resistance

BELGRADE The government's decision to adopt the implementation plan for the Brussels agreement is "a new step in breaking up the state of Serbia," the DSS has said. The opposition party's spokesman Petar Petkovic said on Monday that the plan was "destroying Serbia's state institutions in Kosovo and Metohija." Opposition DSS calls for peaceful resistance "The government is inexorably and irrevocably heading towards the unconditional acceptance of EU requirements to renounce Kosovo for the sake of a null date," Petkovic told a press conference. He stated that the Brussels agreement is not status-neutral and that it should be voided. "This is no way a status-neutral agreement, because it lists Kosovo's laws, Kosovo's legal framework, Kosovo's Interior Ministry and institutions of the false state of Kosovo. This is about the destruction of Serbia's state institutions," Petkovic said. He added that the agreement would be status-neutral if all these tasks were carried out by the UN mission, in keeping with UN Resolution 1244, which had designated the UN mission in Kosovo and Metohija to perform the tasks. The DSS spokesman also said that peaceful resistance is the only way not to implement the agreement, and that the party was calling on Serbs in Kosovo to declare themselves against the government's decision.
