"Serbia and China agree on all important issues"

Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic met with visiting Chinese National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo on Thursday. Cvetkovic said after the meeting that Serbia and China support the other country's position on all issues of vital importance, the Serbian government press office said in a statement. "Serbia and China agree on all important issues" Cvetkovic thanked China for its principled support to Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and pointed out that he expects China's continued support to all of Serbia's efforts following the International Court of Justice (ICJ) opinion on the legality of Kosovo's independence. Bangguo reiterated that China's position on Kosovo and its support to Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty will remain unchanged. Cvetkovic pointed out that the visit of the Chinese delegation to Serbia and the laying of the foundation stone for the Serbian-Chinese Friendship Bridge is proof of the strategic cooperation between the two countries. At the meeting, the two officials concluded that infrastructure projects and investments are the key areas of economic cooperation between Serbia and China. It was agreed that the two countries will work on creating a customs free zone for Chinese investors in Serbia, also discussed during Cvetkovic's recent visit to China, which could be built in the town of Smederevo. Cvetković thanked China for its principled support to Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and pointed out that he expects China's continued support to all of Serbia's efforts following the International Court of Justice (ICJ) opinion on the legality of Kosovo's independence.
