Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said that the Serbian delegation will be one of the first to meet with new EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele. Djelic told B92 that the Serbian delegation will be the first delegation of a country striving for EU candidate status that will be meeting with Fuele immediately after he takes over for Olli Rehn as the new EU Enlargement Commissioner. Serbian delegation to meet with new commissioner Djelic said that the Serbian delegation is expected to meet with Fuele on Thursday in Brussels. “He will be elected on Wednesday, and on Thursday the first country he will meet with is Serbia, and of course we will talk about the question of the green light. It is unlikely that it will happen before the spring, but we will try and make it happen. It will more than likely be sometime around mid-year, and just like everything in these European integrations, it is up to us to try and lobby towards proving our dedication regarding this question,” Djelic said regarding the possibility of the EU ratifying the Stabilization and Association Agreement with Serbia.
