Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said that he hopes that Holland will come around and join other EU states and U.S. They, Djelic said, believe Serbia’s doing everything to meet the Hague Tribunal obligations. Djelic "hopes for new Dutch stance" “We are happy about the coming visit of Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen to Belgrade on July 21. We will not put pressure on him, but we hope that based on our arguments, Verhagen will understand that Serbia is doing everything to arrest Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic and extradite them to the tribunal,” Djelic said in an interview with Dutch daily Nederlands Dagblad. Asked about the proposal made by Verhagen to begin implementing one part of the interim trade agreement – itself part of the suspended SAA – Djelic reminded that the European Commission has stated that this is not possible. “This trade agreement is a part of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, its parts cannot be cut into pieces. That would be absurd,” Djelic said. He reminded that at a recent meeting of the EU foreign ministers Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz said that Serbia is cooperating with the tribunal and that he believed sufficient progress had been made for continuing Belgrade's process of European integration.
