Serb Radical Party (SRS) deputy leader Tomislav Nikolic said that elections will be announced in December and held in January. Nikolic said that he was informed of this by Serbian president, and president of the Democratic Party (DS), Boris Tadic. Radicals predict January elections Nikolic told B92 that Tadic informed him an agreement has been reached for announcing elections by the end of the year and holding them in January 2008. He added that officials close to Prime Minister and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica also informed him of the date for announcing elections, stating that it will depend on the situation in which Serbia will find itself in after December 10, and the results of the Kosovo status negotiations. Nikolic also assured that SRS will have a candidate in the presidential race.

Radicals predict January elections

Nikolić told B92 that Tadić informed him an agreement has been reached for announcing elections by the end of the year and holding them in January 2008.

He added that officials close to Prime Minister and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Koštunica also informed him of the date for announcing elections, stating that it will depend on the situation in which Serbia will find itself in after December 10, and the results of the Kosovo status negotiations.

Nikolić also assured that SRS will have a candidate in the presidential race.
