“I have clearly stated that KFOR will not accept any form of paramilitary structure,” Kather told RTV Kosovo, according to Reuters.

He also said that KFOR was cooperating with Serbia in order to stop the arrival of the Serbian nationalists to Gazimestan, near Priština.

The Guard has announced a forthcoming visit on June 28, the anniversary of the Kosovo Battle of 1389.

The Serbian Orthodox Church also marks June 28 as the religious holiday of Vidovdan.

The announcement of the arrival of the Guard has reportedly infuriated Albanians, already upset that Kosovo has not yet gained independence.

Reuters stated that Serbian sources in north Kosovo said dozens of Serbian nationalists, who came after walking for 350 kilometers, have already arrived in Kosovo and some were wearing military uniforms.

Kosovo Police Service (KPS) arrested several persons on Sunday in the northern town of Vučitrn, for delivering flyers put out by a militant group, the Albanian National Army (AKSH), warning of violence.

“The AKSH is here, we will wait for you with bullets,” the message in the flyers read.
