Kosovo belongs to Serbia, always has, always will. America has no say in the matter of Kosovo. Bush is proving to be a major screw up here. The US support of Kosovo independence is riduculous,it shows the Islamic world that the US is two faced. Supporting Islamic radicals one place, fighting them in two other places. As an American (with a Serb father and married to a Kosovo Serb.) I can no longer support a Nation with double standards. As for the AKSH,just more terrorists to be dealt with.

When NATO was initially formed it was supposed to be a way of assisting member states in times of conflict.

NATO is just like having a credit card in your pocket when you go out for a meal. It's convenient & nice to have in your pocket and people are impressed with your establishment of credit, but in the end, you always get a bill.

This "threat" is just another step backwards. NATO has proven to be nothing but a militaristic showcase & holds no value to anyone!

I hate extremist groups on any side. But I hate the biggest extremist group the most, NATO. They are a US led, expansionist organization that is moving so fast, they do not know how to curtail themselves. In my humble opinion, they will self impode, and rightfully so. How dare they try and rule the world? Who do they think they are?

first of all an open question to the B92 moderators:

why are you posting albanian lies, that are long ago proven to be stupid propaganda in order to create hatred against the Serbs?
I mean, some Albanian are reduced to that level of misinformation since they have nothing else, but why for heavens sake are you posting that???

It is no suprise Serbs look threatening to you but I was their and the march was conducted in a completely peacefull, non-militant manner. One person was even asked by the organizers to leave the march because he wanted a to bring an old ww2 bayonet with him. Unlike Albanian demonstrations, we no how to conduct our selves in a non-militant manner.

Cvele - personally I don't really care much what is going to happen to Kosovo. I agree that independence through SC might not be realized and that Serbia might be able to hold on to Kosovo. In any case, I am sure problems will persist and that there will be no easy and quick solutions.

I am still of the opinion that politics have brought Serbia to this situation, where western powers are trying to carve a big piece out of her, Carla ranting on and on about the fugitives not brought to justice, corruption and all that kind of things. Maybe Serbia needs to cling to the past, be conservative and vote for radicals not to loose Kosovo now, but that past carries a big burden. In my western view Serbia could gain a lot more by distancing herself from the past riddled with wars, getting rid of that burden, and moving on.

In a democratic country paramilitary units would be disbanded and people who continuously create, and lead such units would get arrested and would get locked up. It appears that even after many years of "democracy" in Serbia such units are allowed to get formed. Furthermore it appears that such units have tacit approval of the Serb government. If all things were in order in Serbia, these units would have been stopped in Serbia itself and NATO nor Kosovo Police would have had to get involved in cleaning this mess.

If Serbia is democratic it would have not allowed these units to be formed in its proper. Also it would have not allowed them to march and trumped their ideology, when they openly have threatened with wars.

Needless is to remind everyone that members of this group have been spotted in Belgrade, Serbia's capital, placing photos of Gen. Mladic, a fugitive war criminal, in a street named after the late murdered prime minister (for whose murder I would suggest current prime minister is put before a lie detector to answer some interesting questions!). It is also troubling the fact that members of the same organization have raided and interrupted political gathering of the political parties in Vojvodina.

After all this to read claims that Serbia is democratic and will join EU very fast is very funny ... Nice try!

I am sure that most Serbs can celebrate Vidovdan in Kosovo. I have read nothing in this article that says that Serbs living in Kosovo can't. Extremist however can best celebrate at home not to stir up problems making it only worse for the Serbs living there. And it looks like both KFOR and the Serbian goverment agree on the matter.

"He also said that KFOR was cooperating with Serbia in order to stop the arrival of the Serbian nationalists to Gazimestan, near Priština. "

Blacky, you've put me in a difficult position - I don't know whether to laugh or to cry because of your comment.

The war in Croatia was result of America recognizing Croatia and lack of America's diplomatic effort? And that is very well known, according to you? What about Serbian and Croatian intents and political efforts, they had nothing to do with causing the war? They had no control and no responsibility over their actions?

You are saying that powerful nation is using smaller nations as pawns in its games. Wow, what else is new? Did somebody say that USA (or any other nation, for that matter) is trying to be fair to all sides? Of course they are biased, of course they have selfish motivations. The name of the game is politics, and by the look of things, Serbia is not very good at that it. The way down started year 1991 with Slovenia and looks like it is going to end 16 years later with Kosovo.

The hate and flames in the region do not need to be fanned by anyone, they are still burning bright as the result of the recent civil wars. People need to stop for a moment and see who has taken Serbia where it is now.

The leader(Zeljko Vasilevic) of this terorists guard which is armed and therefore illegal also in Serbia in a long interview with Kosovo daily Express threatened Albanians with genocide if they don't accept their status proposal. He said something like this: You remember Srebrenica? UN could not protect the people there. The same can happen here.

This man said also that there are more Serbs in the world than Albanians and they were going to colonize Kosovo and get majority.

So sad some of you are closing your eyes and supporting this kind of guards who already have a lot of Albanian blood in their hands.

Let them march. They have a right. They do not have a right however, to provoke violence and cause a scene. Blacky, I do not share your analysis at all. If I understand your logic, if you have a matrimonial problem with your wife, it would be because of me.

Please, try to analyse the situation in Serbia with a different eye. Milosevic took power and hold power for his own ambitions. He is the one who lit the match of nationalism in Serbia, and we all know what happened. And after the end of the war, Serbia, instead of admitting the crimes committed in its name, moved into an attitude of denial and protection of its war criminals. Europe is not responsible for this, nor the USA, it is the fault of its politicians who did not have the courage, as Dindic and Tadic, to look at the situation and acknowledge the facts.

When a majority the Serbs, including you Blacky, have a different look at the situation, and at Serbia's past, only then you'll be able to move ahead and permit your nation to do as well.

If the United States was wise and went into this region with proper negotiations, with a fair policy that holds all sides accountable for war crimes, then none of this would be happening.

America has lit the match, set the fire, and is now fanning the flames. They do this rather well, then they go in as "peacekeepers" and act as if they're saviors, when in fact they're responsible for the growing nationalism on both sides. Had the Albanians been told they would have to negotiate, and had they been told from day one that one side would not be preferred, and if the Serbs saw a neutral and impartial approach by the USA, then I highly doubt ethnic violence would be escalating. People need to stop for a moment and look to see who has fanned the flames of hate and anger in the region. It is the United States and some of their allies.

Blacky - I agree and don't know how some of these people sleep at night or look at their own children without feeling guilt. How many lobbyists for the arms trade and other choice groups are also working behind the scenes, I wonder.

Kate, I can sleep very well becasue I have clean hands and don't have them with blood. Why paramilitaries burned and demolished to dhe ground my two story brick house in 1998 while I was in New York, and also killed the dog in the yard while it was chained next to its cabin? . 19 civilians were killed in one day in my neighborhood in Gjakova. One of them was handicap with one leg only. My question si how can you guys sleep ta night?
Back to your Princ Lazar paramilitaries I allready comented in a another artilce that they are not coming, becasue I know what was said behind close doors in KFOR HQ.

Andrija

This is unbeleivable! Nationalists?Paramilitarys? What is B92 on about? I personally attended the beggining of the Vidovdan March on the 18th and although their was 4 people from the so called Tzar Lazar Gaurd. The rest were mostly young people from all over Serbia wanting to excersise their right to go on their own territory and celebrate a religious holiday. Many were young people ethnically cleansed out of Kosovo by Albanians.

Joe

Andrija,
Few days ago I saw a picture of these people. They looked very paramilitary too me. You know the time of this kind of paramilitaries is gone. It is thank God not the nineties anymore!

This is priceless, Blacky and Kate say that Germany was not to blame for WW2.

Blacky: >>This is a direct cause of America's one-sided approach. History has proven that World War Two was a result of the constant humiliation Germany was put through after WWI. And it is also very well known that the wars in Croatia and Bosnia was a result of America's quick and careless recognition of those two countries without trying diplomacy first. Now, after years of treating the Serbs with complete disregard and holding them to a different standard than anyone else in the Balkans, the result if more nationalism, more anger, and a threat of violence.

Zoran

I totally agree with Joe, those "provocateurs" the AKSH should be stopped, disbanded, jailed, weapons confiscated and so on. KOSOVO IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE SERBIA!!

Anthony Shelmerdine

pre 16 godina

So let me get this straight. The Albanians in Presevo (southern SERBIA) flew the Albanian flag from the town hall on the national day of Albania and yet Serbs cannot gather and celebrate Vidovdan on their own SOVERIEGN U.N. acknowledged territory?

Its official. The world has gone mad.

They are already there. I know because I know some of them.
Also if they r not armed why are they not allowed to go there? What makes you think you have the right to say anything? You think Ceku has any authority on this? Plus if they are stoped (while they r marching without weapons to celebrate)... do you know how this will look on KFOR, NATO, UN, 1244? I wonder who will have a field day with publicising this. I wonder what albans will do? This is a perfect way to seal the deal on autonomy.

Mike

pre 16 godina

Let them march. They have a right. They do not have a right however, to provoke violence and cause a scene. In the end, they will safely return to Serbia, leaving irate Albanians to once again take their anger out on indigenous Serbs living in Kosovo. If they want to be defiant, let them be defiant in a peaceful manner.

Vuk

pre 16 godina

How is celebrating one of the oldiest Serbian Holidays a provocation?
Oh hold on a second there are Albanians there! They cannot allow that in their country oh which all their traditional cerimonies originating from Kosovo and their acceptance of other cultures.
Sorry guys my mistake; clearly provocators!

Question Mark

pre 16 godina

The leader(Zeljko Vasilevic) of this terorists guard which is armed and therefore illegal also in Serbia in a long interview with Kosovo daily Express threatened Albanians with genocide if they don't accept their status proposal. He said something like this: You remember Srebrenica? UN could not protect the people there. The same can happen here.

This man said also that there are more Serbs in the world than Albanians and they were going to colonize Kosovo and get majority.

So sad some of you are closing your eyes and supporting this kind of guards who already have a lot of Albanian blood in their hands.

Blacky please read this article: http://www.iwpr.net/?p=bcr&s=f&o=247641&apc_state=henibcr2000

What do you think about this Blacky(Crni)?

Cvele

pre 16 godina

Ehem, they are there and have a right to be there. (No weapons ofcourse) Can carry any banner, any flag, any signs, say anything they want, its a Democratic Serbia country. If alabans can have an alaban flag in Kosovo Serbs can carry anything they wish. Its called freedom of expression. If the KLA or whatever they call themselves now, wish to do something about it. The publicity will force UN to deal with them. IF NOT and SERBS are harmed. Well dont think Serbs in Kosovo cannot invite Russia to take over the peacekeeping in our areas since UN failed. I believe some are just waiting for that.

Richard Z

pre 16 godina

I am sure that most Serbs can celebrate Vidovdan in Kosovo. I have read nothing in this article that says that Serbs living in Kosovo can't. Extremist however can best celebrate at home not to stir up problems making it only worse for the Serbs living there. And it looks like both KFOR and the Serbian goverment agree on the matter.

"He also said that KFOR was cooperating with Serbia in order to stop the arrival of the Serbian nationalists to Gazimestan, near Priština. "

BlueJ

pre 16 godina

"looks like"

It looked like Nazis were going to win WW2. It even looked like Serbia was going to lose 99 but somehow managed to retain soverignty over Kosovo as bombs were droping all around.

So spare me these looks like. Looks like that will NEVER happen now with the guarantee of a Russian VETO. Or as Polt calls it.. a hypothetical VETO.

Nice try!

Blue J

pre 16 godina

Andrija

It is no suprise Serbs look threatening to you but I was their and the march was conducted in a completely peacefull, non-militant manner. One person was even asked by the organizers to leave the march because he wanted a to bring an old ww2 bayonet with him. Unlike Albanian demonstrations, we no how to conduct our selves in a non-militant manner.

Jovan

pre 16 godina

first of all an open question to the B92 moderators:

why are you posting albanian lies, that are long ago proven to be stupid propaganda in order to create hatred against the Serbs?
I mean, some Albanian are reduced to that level of misinformation since they have nothing else, but why for heavens sake are you posting that???

and by the way, if those guys are not armed, NOBODY can prevent them to go where ever they wanna go within Serbia. keep that in mind.
like Princip uses to write: conform to it.

When NATO was initially formed it was supposed to be a way of assisting member states in times of conflict.

NATO is just like having a credit card in your pocket when you go out for a meal. It's convenient & nice to have in your pocket and people are impressed with your establishment of credit, but in the end, you always get a bill.

This "threat" is just another step backwards. NATO has proven to be nothing but a militaristic showcase & holds no value to anyone!
