Serbia will not cut ties with countries ready to recognize Kosovo independence, but would reconsider relations.

Official: Serbia would not cut ties over Kosovo

“Cutting off diplomatic ties is costly, but relations would not stay the same and Serbia would have to react in some way,” Dušan Proroković said, adding that the measures that may be taken are yet to be decided.

“There is a number of moves which our country could make, but I hope that it will not come to that, and that the decision for Kosovo will be made within the United Nations Security Council,” Proroković told B92.

He added he did not believe that Russia was asking for a greater presence in the Serbian market in exchange for a Russian veto within the process of defining Kosovo’s future status, and that these two issues should be dealt with separately.
