Rehn: EU, Serbia to resume talks

The European Commission welcomes positive news from Belgrade regarding the formation of <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2007&mm=05&dd=11&nav_category=93&nav_id=41168" class="text-link" target= "_blank">a new democratic government</a>.

Rehn: EU, Serbia to resume talks

In a statement issued following a confirmation from Belgrade regarding the agreement on the new government, EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said that Serbia could now immediately resume its EU course provided it gained a reformist and EU-oriented government.

The European Commission has also decided to schedule the initialing of the visa relaxation and readmission agreements for Tuesday, May 15, B92 has learnt.

According to B92’s sources, this decision was a direct consequence of “positive developments in Serbia in regards to the imminent formation of a pro-European government.”
