Telekom Serbia soon in Montenegro?

Bence Makai, Montenegrin Telekom Chairman of the board of directors, said that “they were ready for competition”, assuring that the company “placed itself well on the market with the aid of the Deutsche Telekom Group, and prepared attractive packages to offer their clients in the future”.

“I believe that conquering Montenegrin mobile service market would pose a great challenge to Telekom Serbia, since current mobile network operators offer attractive services and products. That’s why I doubt that any significant changes can occur”, Makai said.

Promonte CEO Kare Gustad said that the company wasn’t afraid of the third mobile operator whose presence could only boost competition to the benefit of customers.

“When a third operator enters a developed mobile market, it can only offer lower prices so as to attract new clients. Promonte will remain competitive and work on its image of a trustworthy operator with the most attractive, reliable and sensibly priced services ”, Gustad said.

The owner of Promonte is the Norwegian Telenor, a mobile operator which runs business in Serbia as well. Telenor expects from Telekom Serbia to “build synergy and co-operate with sister companies in Serbia”.
