IM: Arrest of Veselinović "not political"

Serbia’s Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has said that northern Kosovo businessman Zvonko Veselinovic was not arrested at EULEX’s request. He added that the arrest had no political background. IM: Arrest of Veselinovic "not political" The minister told reporters at the City of Belgrade Assembly that Veselinovic had been arrested on prosecution’s order and that a Kraljevo investigative judge hadremanded him in custody for 30 days. Veselinovic and his brother Zarko were arrested at Mt. Kopaonik on Tuesday night. Zvonko was questioned in the Kraljevo Higher Court on Thursday, while Zarko was questioned by the Special Prosecution in Belgrade. The investigation against Zvonko Veselinovic was launched at the prosecution’s request, on suspicion of illegal manufacturing, trade, transport, mailing and storing of guns, ammunition and explosives. The minister told reporters at the City of Belgrade Assembly that Veselinović had been arrested on prosecution’s order and that a Kraljevo investigative judge hadremanded him in custody for 30 days.Veselinović and his brother Žarko were arrested at Mt. Kopaonik on Tuesday night.
Zvonko was questioned in the Kraljevo Higher Court on Thursday, while Žarko was questioned by the Special Prosecution in Belgrade.
